About Us

Tyler (grandson/co-host/producer)is a pale Floridian. He’s a poet and award-winning journalist, published in Rolling StoneThe GuardianViceGQ, and Salon. His humor writing can be found in the the New Yorker, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, and the anthology LGBTQ Comedic Monologues That Are Actually Funny.

He is the author of Florida Man: Poems (2018) and the forthcoming nonfiction collection The Thing About Florida: Exploring a Misunderstood State (2021).

Gramel (grandma/co-host) is a merry widow who is embracing independence. She’s a study in words — hearing them, speaking them, writing them.

She loves words; learning new words, using them, expressing herself and studying how others use their words: newsworthy, humor, debating, kind use of words — tone of voice, expressive language, mindful of facial changes.

Her love of words translates to her doing a lot of reading, loving/hating politics, conversations with family + friends, talking out loud to herself, keeping a journal, sending greeting cards, singing karaoke. She talks a lot (duh!) and she listens a lot, too. She ponders a lot. She prays. She talks to Roxie, her dog. A lot.

She wants to talk to you!

Also, she loves texting her friends.
